Digital vs. Conventional Dentures

Both workflows are available — choose what fits the clinical situation

Traditional Method

Conventional Dentures

Heat-cured acrylic fabricated from physical impressions through multiple laboratory stages. The established workflow for complex cases requiring multiple patient try-in appointments.

✔ Ideal for complex edentulous ridges
✔ Multiple try-in stages for fine-tuning
✔ Accepted from physical impressions
✔ Complete and partial denture types
⟳ 5–6 patient visits typical

Digital Method

CAD/CAM Digital Dentures

Milled from pre-polymerized PMMA blocks — better material density than conventional processing, exact reproducibility from the stored file, and fewer patient appointments required.

✔ 2–3 patient visits possible
✔ Stored digitally — exact duplicate on request
✔ STL upload from any intraoral scanner
✔ Superior dimensional stability
✔ Lost denture replaced from file

Denture Laboratory Services

Full range of removable prosthodontics — conventional and digital

Complete Dentures

Upper and lower complete dentures — conventional heat-cured acrylic or CAD/CAM milled PMMA. Immediate, conventional, and copy (duplicate) denture options. Tooth libraries: Vita MFT, Ivoclar SR Phonares, or similar.

Stages: Primary tray → Final impression → Bite record → Try-in → Final

Partial Dentures

Removable partial dentures in acrylic base or cast cobalt-chrome framework. Metal-frame partials distribute occlusal forces more effectively and are more hygienic than all-acrylic designs. Try-in stage on all metal-frame cases.

Options: Acrylic base · Cast Co-Cr framework · Adams clasps · Wrought wire

Implant Overdentures

Removable overdentures retained by Locator attachments, ball attachments, or custom bars on 2–4 implants. Significantly improved stability vs. conventional complete dentures. Metal housing processed into finished denture base.

Systems: Locator · Ball · ERA · Bar-retained designs

Full-Arch Implant Prostheses

Screw-retained hybrid prostheses for All-on-4 and All-on-6 protocols. Titanium bar + acrylic teeth (hybrid) or monolithic zirconia framework. Immediate load or final delivery after osseointegration.

Confirm: Implant system and connection type before ordering

Digital CAD/CAM Dentures

Milled from pre-polymerized PMMA blocks — consistent material density, stored file for exact duplicate production on request. Accepts STL from all intraoral scanners. Try-in via printed wax-up before final milling.

Advantage: Stored digitally — replacement made from file if lost

Repairs & Relines

Hard relines (permanent acrylic), soft relines (resilient liner), fracture repairs with reinforcement wire option, and tooth additions or replacements for existing dentures. Emergency repair turnaround: 1–2 business days.

Emergency: Submit before noon for next-business-day return

How a Digital Denture Case Works

Fewer appointments. Stored file. Better material. Here is what the workflow looks like.

1

Primary Impression

Intraoral scan or physical impression — your choice

2

Bite Record

Vertical dimension and centric relation captured

3

Digital Design

Tooth setup designed in CAD — you review before milling

4

Try-In Wax-Up

3D-printed trial for patient appointment (optional)

5

Mill & Finish

Milled from PMMA block, polished, shipped with tracking

File stored after delivery — lost or broken denture replaced from the same file. No new impressions needed.

zenta model 4 - Denture Laboratory — Complete, Partial & Implant-Retained Dentures - World Dental Lab

A digital denture is milled from a pre-polymerized PMMA block — the material has uniform density because it was polymerized under factory conditions, not chair-side or bench processing. The digital file is stored and can produce an exact duplicate if the denture is lost or broken. Conventional heat-cured acrylic dentures require physical impressions through multiple stages but remain the preferred approach for complex edentulous ridges that need multiple try-in appointments for fine-tuning.

For digital dentures: export your intraoral STL file and upload via our portal with a completed prescription. For conventional dentures: send primary impressions, final impressions, bite records, and subsequent try-in stages by post. We provide step-by-step submission guides and case boxes for new accounts.
